Performances
At Vital Signz Dance, we truly enjoy bringing our work and Hip Hop Performances to the stage. Our main goal is to bring out the best in our students and thrive while showcasing our Hip Hop Performances live on stage.
Our Hip Hop Theatre journey began in 2017 when we participated in the Zoonations Into the Hoods: Remixed Digital Competition. The competition aimed to select Zoonations Associate Youth Dance Company for one year. We had to create a short video performance of our version of the story of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which involved putting together a short hip hop story. As a result, we won the competition and became an associate youth dance company with Zoonation.
This opened up opportunities for us to continue our creative pursuits and perform various other Hip Hop Performances, including "Matilda: The Revolt" at the Royal Festival Hall and "Neverland" at ACT Theatre in Kingston Upon Thames.
In June 2019, we presented our award-winning performance of "The Wizard's Tale," based on the iconic Harry Potter, which won Vital Signz the Best Dance Award at the International Youth Arts Festival.
When the Covid-19 pandemic hit in 2020, we adapted by transitioning our classes online. We wanted to ensure that we continue providing the best support to our students and bring the community closer together during these challenging times. The International Youth Arts Festival gave us the opportunity to showcase our online efforts, and in 2021, we finally reunited to perform ‘Our Lockdown’ at the Rose Theatre. The arts industry has suffered significantly due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and embarking on this emotional journey was our way of coping and persevering.
Since then our journey has continued, we have also presented our rendition of "Twist" in 2023, and our most recent production, "Descendantz."
